We’ve written about some interesting pieces of property for sale in the past, including this Disney Haunted Mansion replica, and the Mineola Lounge and Marina, a known hideaway for the likes of Al Capone. But while those had their appeal based on their association with ghosts (either imagined or real), this property’s appeal is based on several other factors, including (we think) how safe it is.
Today’s remarkable find is this 1907 Historical ACB Bank Commercial Urban Resident Mansion Antique Store:
While the title is a bit of a mouthful (the seller tries to insert as many key words as possible), what it comes down to is that a former bank is now being sold on eBay to the highest bidder. And the bank property has been divided in two, one part residential, one part commercial, although both are being offered for sale in this one listing. The seller explains that the property was formerly the Alfa County Bank, in Cherokee, Oklahoma. He calls it a two story architectural gem; given the many pictures and videos on the listing, we’d have to agree.
The seller goes on to point out some of the more salient features:
“Completed in 1907′ this Lavish Building was the tallest in Town, This 6,800 sqf Historical Building has the most Beautiful View of the City from it’s Second Floor, Over looking Grand Ave, Their are Endless Posibilities of Adaptive reuse and Preservation.

The Main Two Story Building on Grand Ave, has Been Legally Changed to a Urban Resident’s.. And the Attached Building (Single Story) is Still a Commercial Building. You are Bidding on 2 Buildings Connected with Separate Address… ( The Resident’s On Grand is a Complete and Lived in By Owner’s Home it Features (4) Bedrooms, Living room, Complete Vault, Bar/Kitchen, 3 Stair Ways, (2) Toilets, 1 Corner Jacuzzi Hot Tub, and 40′ Ceiling in Main Room , with 12-14 Ft Ceiling’s in Bed Rooms.
The attached Commercial Building is a Antique Shop that Includes the Basement with Painted Floors! and a 1 Car Garage/Shop. Antique Shop has (3) Rooms on Main Floor & (2) Rooms in the Basement with wall sconces and a Bathroom/Shower.”
Apparently Cherokee, Oklahoma is in the midst of an oil boom, so even if you don’t decide to up and move to Oklahoma, you could potentially rent out the residence to the (now richer) renter population. As an added bonus, you could set up the commercial side as a kind of oil boomtown store, although what exactly oil operators need (aside from fracking material) is beyond me.
There are several video links in the listing, which you can see here. Our favorite is is this one, detailing the inside of the house:
